This isn’t even funny anymore this is actually getting really silly. Another day, another defection of an NCAA hockey player/recruit to the CHL.

This past Saturday the Dallas Cowboys put some of their fans on life support with their poor performance against the Texans. The team rushed for a paltry 13 yards, averaging a meager 1.1 yards per carry, and the offensive line showed a few signs of worry when they failed to recognize a few stunts and twists by the Texans defensive line.
I guess Houston was out to prove that the saying “don’t mess with Texas” should be re-written to say “don’t mess with the Texans.”
We learned that Houston takes its preseason play pretty dang serious. Houston’s budding star running back Arian Foster rushed for 118 yards, Matt Schaub’s quarterback rating went north of 90, and the defense looked about as mean as Barry Bonds after a steroid injection.

I really should have called this – Albert Pujols can’t hit even Nelson Figueroa for goodness sakes – but i’m just not that mean. I’ve started looking back and I can’t find even ONCE when Uncle came to the Box when he didn’t get even ONE hit – although he did get 1 walk.
Or I could have called this – the umps had a strike zone that wobbled like a drunk trying to walk a straight line – which would be more fun and just as accurate, but I just HAD to give Hunter Pence the props as this was the second game in a row that he won the game for the Astros with his bat. As well as the second game in a row in which he was thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double, but we won’t have to go there because his batting overcame his feet outrunning his brains…

Here is the latest in the Coyotes debacle. It appears that a buyer has stepped up that will keep the Coyotes in Phoenix.
ESPN.COM —- Matthew Hulsizer, CEO of PEAK6 Investments is in the final stages of negotiating a new arena lease agreement with the City of Glendale after which Hulsizer is expected to make an offer to purchase the Coyotes from the NHL, multiple sources have confirmed to ESPN.com.
The emergence of the Chicago-based financier and former collegiate hockey player comes at a time when negotiations between Ice Edge Holdings, a group of Canadian and American investors who have been pursuing the team for more than a year, and Glendale officials have stalled.
Although Hulsizer could not be reached for comment, sources familiar with the businessman and situation in Phoenix believe he may be the answer to the NHL’s search for a viable owner.

ISTANBUL—Many were concerned for Team USA after barely beating Brazil in a 70-68. But they showed no fear, blowing out Iran in a 88-51 victory. Outside of basketball, it’s usually a political battle. But playing on the hardwood, there is nothing that really goes on than just trying to beat your opponent.
“For me, it’s a normal game,” Iran captain Mahdi Kamrany said.
It was a fairly easy game for the United States.
“We just respected their basketball team and we just played a basketball game,” U.S. coach Mike Krzyzewski said. “There’s no political aspect in my mind in the ballgame.”
Kevin Love had 13 points and Kevin Durant had twelve points, has both helped Team USA stay on top in the FIBA World Championships and stay undefeated at a 4-0 notch. Hamed Haddadi led the now 1-3 Iranians with 19 points while Arsalan Kazemi had 14.

The next two statements may be hard to believe unless you’ve seen the evidence for yourself.
The Panthers’ defensive line is vastly superior to last year’s, even after losing DE Julius Peppers to Chicago in free agency.
And even though Thomas Davis has already landed on injured reserve, Carolina has simply reloaded at linebacker and won’t lose much without him.
Out of all the apparent chaos in Charlotte, the team has managed to put together a front seven that will save John Fox’s job and could help you win some fantasy hardware of your own.
It’s not just that the Carolina pass rush has produced 18 sacks in three preseason games. These guys have been rampaging into opponents’ backfields with impunity. These aren’t just any opponents either—Tennessee, Baltimore and the New York Jets all rank among the best offensive lines in the league…

With the Fantasy Baseball playoffs only a few weeks away, several youngsters have decided to turn on the jets. What youngsters am I referring to? Are there any veterans worth grabbing? Let’s see what the Week 23 Start/Sit has in store.
Starting Pitcher to Start
Where to begin? With only a few weeks left in the fantasy season, a new breed of reliable starters has come into the picture. Out of nowhere, youngsters from around the league have been on their own hot streaks, the latest being Arizona Diamondbacks righty Ian Kennedy.
Over his last three starts, Kennedy is 2-0 with a 2.37 ERA, and he hasn’t lost a decision since August 4. This past Thursday, Kennedy has his most impressive outing yet, pitching seven scoreless innings of one-hit ball and recording 12 Ks in the process.

“NO ONE…And I mean NO ONE should EVER compare Kobe Bryant to my dad and say that he is anywhere near close to my dad. He’s jagging his game.” This was what Michael Jordan’s son, Marcus Jordan, said on his Twitter account. This one of the tweets he said on his account that has caused much controversy.
But the big news came yesterday, when Jordan was caught partying under probe in Las Vegas, Neveda. Partying at the Strip nightclub, the 19-year-old was too young to be involved in such a thing, as you have to be at least 21 years of age. It was tweeted on August 20th that he spent $35,000 at a Casino.
“Last night was stupid… 35K at Haze,” the University of Central Florida sophomore guard said. “Totals 50K something the whole day.”
