Former Bears QB Rex Grossman had a big day yesterday against the Dallas Cowboys. Grossman started over veteran Donovan McNabb and played very well.
Grossman completed 25 of 43 passes for 322 and four touchdowns. He also converted multiple two point conversions. In his first start since 2008, when he was with the Bears “Sexy Rexy” played with confidence.
Grossman is basically auditioning for a job next season, perhaps as the Redskins QB or with some other NFL team. He showed many signs why he should be the quarterback and very little signs of why he shouldn’t be.
He did play a bad secondary in the Cowboys, but he was making his first start since 2008 and that isn’t easy. He showed up to play yesterday.
It was nice seeing Grossman play that well, he might still have something left in him. Look for him to compete in these next two games for the Redskins. He will definitely want to win that starting gig next season because we all know McNabb is going elsewhere.
Congrats to Rex Grossman on his performance yesterday. Here is a list of some former Bears players, who also played well yesterday:
Bengals RB Cedric Benson ran for 150 yards and one touchdown on 31 carries in a win against Cleveland.
Texans DE Mark Anderson recorded his fourth sack in nine games with Houston this season.
Broncos WR Brandon Lloyd caught four passes for 79 yards and one touchdown in a loss to the Raiders. He now has over 1200 yards and 10 touchdowns in 14 games this season.
Chiefs RB Thomas Jones ran the ball 22 times for 62 yards and one touchdown in a victory of the Rams. He went over 10,000 yards rushing in his career.
Saints DE Alex Brown had four tackles in a loss to the Ravens.
Titans WR Justin Gage caught one pass for a touchdown in a win over the Texans.
