Henry Burris, what can be said about this very bad quarterback. Well if you don’t know anything about Henry Burris you will soon.

Burris made his way to the NFL in 2001 with the Packers after spending two seasons in the CFL. In 2002, the Bears had Jim Miller, Chris Chandler and Henry Burris as their three quarterbacks.

Jim Miller was lost for the season in week 15 due to a knee injury. Chris Chandler was given a shot next week, but the Bears opted to give Burris a look later in that game.

In that game against Carolina in week 16, Burris completed 8 of 22 passes for only 50 yards and a touchdown to WR Dez White. Burris scrambled three times for 17 yards, but fumbled the ball twice.

In week 17, the final game of the season, Burris completed 7 of 19 passes for 78 yards and a QB rating of 10.3. However, Burris threw four interceptions to the best defense in the league in Tampa Bay.

In six games, Burris made two starts. Burris finished the season with a QB rating of 28.4, completing 18 of 51 passes for three touchdowns and five interceptions. He scrambled the ball 15 times for 104 yards, but fumbled the ball twice.

After the season, Burris was sent to NFL Europe with the Berlin Thunder, but decided to head back the CFL after his demotion. Burris may be the worst player to ever wear a Chicago Bears jersey. He was just pathetic. I can remember watching him play like it was yesterday. The Bears had a streak of bad quarterbacks, Cade McNown, Jonathan Quinn, Craig Krenzel and Kordell Stewart are just some of those bad quarterbacks.

Henry Burris probably tops that list because he was just that bad. It’s hard to top that list especially since those other quarterbacks were pretty awful.

In the meantime, Burris has been in the CFL since 2005, with the Calgary Stampeders. He has had some good success. He won the CFL’s MOP (most outstanding player) last season. At age 35, Burris is still playing with the Stampeders.

Burris embarrassed himself in his one shot at the NFL. The Bears should be ashamed to ever have had Henry Burris on their roster. Sorry Henry, but you were just flat out pathetic, I still can’t believe you were the Bears starting quarterback for two games.
