I don’t often do trade analysis, because I (a) never have original thoughts on a prospect — I’ve never properly scouted a minor leaguer, except for when I saw the Midwest League All-Star Game last year and watched Mike Trout beat out a routine grounder (to Hak-Ju Lee!) and was like WOW that guy’s awfully fast — and (b) I’ve gotten accustomed to a world where a Twitter-sized reaction often suffices as reaction to a trade. Think a team overpaid? Make a quick crack about it and move along. To my eyes (or, perhaps, my work ethic), it’s really only trades that would be resoundingly awful (or excellent, depending on how one approaches it) that seem worthy of a handful of hundreds of words.
