The Bucks are back where they must be

Skiles is a miracle worker

I realize we are all of one and a half weeks into the NBA season.  Nevertheless the Milwaukee Bucks have accomplished something that two years ago I didn't think they could accomplish at any point in any season.  According to basketball-reference.com, the Milwaukee Bucks are -- for the moment -- playing the best defense in the NBA (by defensive rating).
...
Why is this causing such an overreaction from me?  Because, as I've mentioned ad nauseum, two years ago the Bucks finished the season as the very worst defensive team in the NBA, and that was a  season I never want to relive.  It capped off 15 seasons in a row in which the team finished in the bottom half of the NBA in defensive rating.
...
Now, in just two seasons, Scott Skiles has the Bucks, however briefly, at the top of the Association.  And he's done it with a group of guys with poor career individual defensive ratings.  Shocking.
...
They probably won't be number one after playing the Knicks, so I wanted to mention it before it was gone.
