The NY Knicks ranked by Win Contributions made so far
by tcw1 on November 7, 2009
Lee, Hughes, and Gallinari
I'm doing Knickerbocker estimated Marginal Win Scores and corresponding Win Contributions (MWS * mins/total team minutes) in the runup to tonight's Bucks vs. Knicks game to see which Knicks are playing well and which Knicks are not. Here they are:
...
1. David Lee, C...+1.54...(+0.213)
2. Larry Hughes, SG...+1.21...(+0.118)
3. Dan Gallinari, SF/SG...+0.25...(+0.031)
4. Darko Milicic, C...+0.20...(+0.007)
5. Toney Douglas, PG...-7.61...(-0.206)
6. Jared Jeffries, SF...-3.44...(-0.293)
7. Chris Duhon, PG...-1.97...(-0.308)
8. Nate Robinson, SG/PG...-6.23...(-0.316)
9. Al Harrington, PF...-3.04...(-0.403)
10. Wilson Chandler...-3.81...(-0.538)
...
Total WC: (-1.694)
1515 minute translation: 1.3 wins and 4.7 losses
19780 minute translation: 17.7 wins and 64.3 losses
...
So, the best Knick performers so far by MWS48 and Win Contribution are David Lee, Larry Hughes, and Danillo Gallinari. The worst performers are Nate Robinson (who had a good season last season) and Toney Douglas. The most harmful Knicks, by Win Contribution, are Al Harrington and Wilson Chandler, although the Knicks are getting poor play from alot of places. Surprisingly, Darko Milicic is making a positive win contribution. It doesn't surprise me that Chandler and Harrington are not producing. They both made my "
20 Most Harmful" list last season. Chris Duhon once was productive, but hasn't been since leaving Chicago.
