Game Over...Did The Chargers Ever Get Started?

This was supposed to be their year.  The Chargers, predicted to be one of the best teams in Riers atlanta.jpgthe NFL, the likely AFC Champs and possible Super Bowl champs, were supposed to be coasting into the playoffs by this point in the season.  In a weak AFC West, they should have had the division locked up by week 10.  Instead, with a loss to the Falcons now complete, the Chargers are effectively done.

Don't tell me that they could still win the division with an 8-8 or 7-9 record.  That's hardly a lofty goal to aim for and besides, I don't think they have the guts to pull it off.  What's worse, the ref's almost gave them as many bad calls as they made against them, but that still wasn't enough to get the win.

I give a ton of credit to the Falcons for playing inspired football.  They were prepared to play, they didn't make a lot of mistakes, and they stuck to their game plan throughout the game.  They didn't wait for the game to fall in their laps, they went out and took it.

So way to go Chargers!  You were the exact opposite of the Atlanta Falcons in this game and this season and you lost.  Expect a lot of discussion about which players are getting replaced next year, expect a lot more in-fighting and talk of the horrible coaching the team received this year.  Kassim Osgood will soon be in the majority as more players line up behind him to blame Norv for their horrible play.

Luckily we're used to it.  For Chargers fans, we call that the norm.  Son of a...

I'll write my feelings on this game tomorrow... I wasn't able to see it, as in my new digs we get all Steelers, all the time... but it was just as frustrating waiting for updates online. The one saving grace? If I'd still been back home, I'd have been hav ing to fight the urge to jump off the upper deck at the Q.

That stress is about the only one the Bolts have spared me this season.

Sounds like you need Direct TV's NFL Ticket, although with this kind of performance you're not missing much,

I can't believe what 2008 has turned out to be, Padres were supposed to compete for the 2008 NL West crown after coming within 3-outs of the playoffs in game 163, turn out to be a 99 game loser!

The other team as mentioned here most thought would have beaten the "Yankee" empire of the NFL last year in the AFC Championship if it wasn't for a slew of injuries to their top skill players, largely predicted to at worst be the class of the AFC Worst, now we are fighting to secure a top draft pick??????

The economy has been confirmed to have been in recession since Dec 2007, jobs lost, 401(k)'s are dropping faster than the sandstone cliffs at Torrey Pines, home values that are dropping faster than 401(k)'s, well at least we have our weather!
