76ers Afternoon Tussle in Detroit

by alex-whiteleather on November 8, 2009

The 76ers are off to a 3-2 start on the year behind a high octane offense averaging 103ppg on the very young season.  This afternoon they travel to the Motor City for a battle with the struggling 2-4 Detroit Pistons.

The 76ers have been led by the veteran Andre Igoudala averaging 18.4ppg and 5.6apg both leading the team. Igoudala has received solid supporting roles from the young trio of Lou Williams, Maurice Speights, and Thaddeus YoungSF Jason Kapono has successfully added a legit three point threat to a franchise that has sorely lacked a perimeter sniper since the departure of Kyle Korver.

PF Elton Brand still looks to be trying to find his role within the team and has been rather pedestrian to start the season. If the Sixers are going to be serious contenders they have to find a way to turn back the clock and discover the Clippers Elton Brand.

The Sixers are coming off a 97-94 win over the winless New Jersey Nets, a nice rebound win for the squad after getting a reality check with a 31 point trouncing at the hands of the Celtics.  Up next for the Sixers is a return home tomorrow night to take on Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns.
