Dallas Cowboys QB Shoots 72 in U.S. Open Qualifier
How do you have some good clean fun in the NFL off-season?
If you’re Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, you tee it up in your local U.S. Open qualifier at Hackberry Creek Country Club in Irving, Texas.
Romo carded an even-par 72, four off the pace he needed for a chance to advance to the next qualifying round. Only nine spots were available in the 122-player field.
Tony has no regrets.
“It’s just fun to be able to compete out here,” he told the USGA. “For me, I’m a feel player, I have to feel it in my hands. I just enjoy the competitive side of the game. That’s why I wanted to be here.”
For the record, Mr. Romo has a 1 handicap. Not too shabby.
