Scott Dixon, Helio Castroneves score first-team All-America honors

Reigning IndyCar Series and Indianapolis 500 champion Scott Dixon and two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves have made the American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association's All-America first team.

The two drivers, who engaged in a furious battle for the championship, make up the Open Wheel contingent of the first team. But the IRL's representation on the first team doesn't end there, as Raphael Matos bagged top-tier honors in the At Large category for his 2008 Firestone Indy Lights championship. Matos will drive for Luczo Dragon Racing in the IndyCar Series next season.

You can check out the full list of first, second, and honorable mention squads right here. Congratulations to the trio for a job well done in 2008!
