Craig Gore fights back

“Team Australia” mastermind sounds off on Derrick Walker

After taking repeated shots in the press from former partner Derrick Walker over the past few weeks, Craig Gore issued a blistering statement today on the situation between the two of them.

The “Team Australia” point man, who took his services to KV Racing Technology in order to back Aussie driver Will Power,  alleges a variety of things in his statement, which was put out a couple of hours ago by FastMachines.com. But several things stand out. Gore basically says that he was brought to Walker after the 2004 Champ Car season by then-series co-owner Kevin Kalkhoven, and that he and Kalkhoven took the brunt of paying for “all sponsorship, funding and acquisition costs, development funding and marketing of the Team Australia brand and team during our entire tenor [sic].”

In addition, Gore alleges that Walker owes $1.1 million in payments to GoreFishWalker, LLC. This news goes against the long-standing report that Gore himself owes $1.5 million to Walker for last year’s Champ Car season.
