I wish all of you a safe and happy Independence Day today, no matter where you are.
The opening practice of the weekend for the IndyCar Series is underway right now at Watkins Glen International. This session will go until 12:30 p.m. ET and another practice will go from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. ET this afternoon.
While you follow along on IndyCar.com, check out how some IndyCar and Firestone Indy Lights drivers are keeping in touch and showing support for soldiers that are unable to see their families on this 4th of July holiday.
