Most of the imports in Venezuela have been sent back home, so among the remaining players, we're basically watching two things. Is Jose Lopez still posting an OPS over 1.000? Check, a home run last night helped him put it over the top, but he may not have needed it anyway. Is Gutierrez also continuing to improve? That's another check. No home runs in the shortened week of play, but a double and a triple, going 7-for-19 overall. There isn't much to work with elsewhere. Oliveros continues to play, Morse got a couple of games in, and Jakubauskas continues to give up home runs at an unpleasant rate.
There are a couple of new additions to the Dominican end of things where I've decided to add Dotel and Bonilla, in part just to get some names on there. It seems like Triunfel got his first start over there too. We'll see if he gets any more.

There were a few other familiar names in that register too. Looks like the Phillies picked up Lehr and Casey Craig, so that pipeline still exists. The Rays also picked up Douglas Salinas, which may be savvy of them.

Here's a fun little article at an Illinois website on M's Class-A catcher Travis Scott for a little something extra to read over all this winter weather.
