Yusmeiro Petit’s 1st start back in Tucson ended in a loss after he allows 2 runs on 4 his in 3 2/3 innings.  Petit struck out 2 and gave up a 2-run homer.  The Express scored 2 more runs off Chris Kinsey.  The Sidewinders offense had 10 hits but managed to score just a run.

Mobile 4 - Birmingham 1

The BayBears scored 3 runs in the 6th to break a 1-1 tie and defeat the Barons for the 2nd straight game.  Brandon Burgess hit a 1-out RBI single and John Hester doubled in 2 more runs to give Tony Barnette his 2nd win of the season.  Barnette (2-3) pitched 6 strong innings, allowing just a run on 4 hits.  He struck out 6 with a solo homer being his only mistake.  Vince Bongiovanni and newly promoted Jose Marte each pitched a scoreless inning and Reid Mahon got his 7th save with a perfect 9th.
