Baseball Prospectus’ Top 100 Prospects
Kevin Goldstein has put out his annual Top 100 Prospect list. Lets take a look at the Red Sox that made the list:
2) Buchholz
16) Ellsbury
53) Masterson
57) Lowrie
60) Kalish
95) Bowden
100) Anderson
I knew KG had a man-crush on Ryan Kalish, but #60? Wow. I’m in shock that he is that high. Heck, I’m a little surprised he made the list at all. I really like Kalish but he seems to be more of an athlete than a baseball player. That could limit him a great deal down the line.
The only other shock on the list is Anderson being #100. I don’t know if you guys can tell but I love Lars. I think he is going to be a very good #5 hitter some day. KG does not agree with that statement. His rational for the placing is Anderson has yet to see his power potential. KG like to see production before a first baseman or corner outfielder. Personally, I would have Anderson in the top 30.
