Josias Manzanillo. Yes, my knowledge of the Red Sox Minor League system started in my teenage years, with the seemingly endless journey of Josias Manzanillo... who never did make it to the Red Sox. However, during the 80s and early 90s, my real focus was on the Boston Red Sox, not its farm system. Unfortunately, during the mid-90s, my passion for baseball was buried under my work ethic... and I even lost track of my beloved Red Sox. Fortunately, layoffs inspired me to smell the roses (so to speak), and I started going to minor league games with a friend in the late 90s, frequenting Pawtucket and Lowell in particular. In 2001, I discovered the fine website of the Sons of Sam Horn, where I was able to read about the entire farm system everyday. I decided to join the fun in 2002, posting scores from the Venezuelan Summer League, the one team that was being ignored. As others dropped out, I took over their beats until I was soon posting recaps of all the games, every day. In late 2005, I was asked by Evan Brunell to join this blog that you see today. I thought it would be an interesting endeavor, so here I am. I have also become one of the Dopes (that run the site) over at Sons of Sam Horn. And, I have also contributed to two "real" publications; the 2006 Red Sox Annual and the Red Sox Annual 2007, each published by Maple Street Press.
