Quick Notes About Prospects Present and Past

Humberto Sanchez recently had Tommy John surgery on his elbow, so the Yankees won’t really know what they’re getting from this largest chip in the Sheffield trade for a couple more seasons. Jordan Tata didn’t require surgery on his shoulder according to Dr. Lewis Yocum. That’s great news, but it sounds like his timetable remains the same. The article puts his return four or five weeks out.

As we knew they would, the Erie Times-News talked a little bit about Kyle Sleeth’s recent troubles in this article. Matt Walbeck opines he may be having some trouble throwing from the stretch. Sleeth himself basically says the pitches in his second inning of work Thursday were meatballs, but doesn’t offer any explanation for the difference from his first inning of work.

The final tidbit in this one mentions that Pedro Cotto was called up to Erie to replace Adam Haley’s spot on the roster. Haley retired during last week’s road trip. Looking at the bright side of things, that’s one less profile I have to do.
