Hacker was hitting between 88 and 91 on the speedgun, and yes, pitched superbly. He was more victimized by his infielding staff than by any of the Fort Myers batting. It was a pleasure to watch him throw. .

Giese has been lights out in AAA and merits a shot with the Yanks - soon. The Yanks need another Aaron Small this year and you can’t say that Giese hasn’t put his best foot forward.

According to reports, Betances was consistentlu hitting 95 and 96 into the 5th. 20 years old, 6′8″ tall. This guy can be huge. How is his offspeed stuff rated on the plus scale.

    jd,

Betances’ curve is supposed to be above average, maybe even plus at times. The change is still a work in progress, but it should be an average pitch for him.

Look for AJack to go on a tear now. The homerun will remove the monkey off his back and he’ll be putting up some great numbers for the next month or so.
