After Ronny Paulino blasted his first homerun as a Met, a 3-run shot to left field, all signs pointed to a 4th straight Mets win. The homerun capped a 5-run inning, and the Amazins led 6-2 in the 8th. But once again the pen couldn’t hold it late, as Pedro Beato and Jason Isringhausen combined to give up 4 runs and tie the game at 6. Nyjer Morgan’s RBI double off Dale Thayer won it in the 9th, and the Brewers gave the Mets their first walk-off loss of the season, 7-6.

I am going to have nightmares of this slob crushing homeruns for the next 8 hours. Yay...
Mike Pelfrey pitched very well, tossing 6 innings and allowing just 4 hits. He gave up a line drive 2-run shot to Prince Fielder on a 3-0 pitch in the 5th that gave the Brewers a 2-1 lead, but it was the only bad mark on his report card for the night.
