Miggy Tejada Deserved His All Star Spot

I was wrong. No question. Miggy certainly stepped it up - haven’t seen him play that well since May. He went 2 fer 3 with an IBB and he made an AMAZING play coming forward to grab Morneau’s infield grounder in time to throw him out with bases loaded bottom of the 10th. He and Aaron Cook, who threw innings and got out of a bases loaded (2 ROE and an IBB) jam without allowing any runs, were the NL Players Of The Game.

But OH, what an absolutely fantastic All-Star Game - the absolute best I’ve seen since, I think 94.

I stayed up with Lil Miss and Barry Lamar Dog to watch every last minute. Well, I stayed up - Lil Miss fell asleep about the 13th inning. It’s those long muted out commercials, you see. Yes, I mute the sound and have George Benson playing nice and soft. Soothes the blood pressure and having to listen to Buck McCarver call ANY ball game, let alone any game involving anything Yankee is bad for the digestion and circulation. I’ve heard about some stupid stuff they said, but what’s great s that I didn’t have to be listening at the time. I was SO hoping the teams would run out of players again just to see the sour look on ol Bud’s face.

And of course Dan Uggla must be in the witness protection program as Designated Goat - 3 errors - in fact 2 in a ROW, 3 K and a GIDP.

Interesting that Tom Hallion, the second base ump, missed 3 calls - Pujols was safe, Guzman was safe and Kinsler was not even tagged.

Like I always say, the ASG is an exhibition for the FANS. And they put on a great show.

Tejada was absolutely tremendous last night. One of the stars of the game.

A great game that I really enjoyed, even though I was hoping for a NL victory.

I agree completely on Buck McCarver. I don’t see anything special about Yankee Stadium by the way…or anything special about New York in general. My basice philosophy is that bad that happens to the Yankees is good for baseball.

    I still like Dan Uggla.

Tejada did play well, makes you wonder what the players knew that we didnt?

the espn/fox guys make such a huge huge hysterical deal about freaking new york city and the freaking yankees because most of em are from there and are yankee fans.

i know i am tired of the endless promotion of redsox/cubs/yanks/mets

i really wish they would all really REALLY suck
