Dan Haren signs an extension
Big news today for the Diamondbacks- Dan Haren’s going to be on the roster for quite a while. Two years, about $15 million each, and a club option for the third. On top of his current contract, this means we’ve got Haren signed up through the 2013 season. That’s huge.
Haren has certainly earned the extension- he’s put up fantastic numbers this season, a 2.75 ERA, a WHIP of 0.98, and 142 strike-outs. I know there was a lot of concern about how much the team gave up to get Haren from Oakland, but he’s done great work out there.
Now, we just need to get an extension for Webb, too. If we have both of them leading our rotation into the middle of the next decade, we’re going to be a contender for years to come.
