Oriole Magic

Anyone See A Problem Here?

Courtesy of the folks from the Worldwide Sports Leader (link here) & (graphic here). If I remember correctly, didn’t we win the game? Manny made a great catch, didn’t Jay Payton hit a grand slam homer off Hideki Okajima in the seventh inning to send us to victory?

So much for giving the Baltimore Orioles credit for sweeping the World Champions, eh?

Whatever, ESPN is full of unapologetic Yankees/BoSox lovers. Check this out, too:

    Actually, I don’t think that’s what happened…

ESPN is based in Connecticut and loves all New England teams first. I would rather watch other sports shows and networks sometimes.

Some things are so blatant, just like John Madden proclaiming his love for Brett Favre all the time.

Okay folks come on. I a huge Orioles fan as well but it was pretty crazy to see what he did. We took two games in May,does that compare to that highlight. It was funny and entertaining. We need to raise the bar here a little. I want a whole lot more than a 2 game sweep in May!!!!!!

I don’t have a problem with Manny’s play (I thought it was the most hilarious, amazing and head-scratching play I’ve ever seen), but ESPN made a blatant mistatement with the tagline this morning.

If we were not Oriole fans, you would have thought Manny saved the game for Boston, when in fact, they didn’t even win.

The play was hilarious, yes, and deserved air time, yes. But I’d bet my savings account that if it were opposite day and Jay Payton made that catch and Manny hit the game winning grand slam… Manny and the grand slam would be the headline.
