ST Games 16 and 17: Bucs/Reds Doubleheader

According to Pirates.com:

The Pirates face the Reds in a day-night doubleheader today. Southpaw Paul Maholm will start the Bucs’ home game at 1:05 p.m. ET, while righty Shawn Chacon will start the away game at 7:05 p.m.

Kirk Saarloos and Bobby Livingston will get the starts for Cincinnati. According to the P-G, Kolb, Bayliss and Burnett should throw at some point for Pittsburgh.

I’ll be here off and on throughout the day for updates. There are allegedly Gameday Audio feeds for both games, and FM NewsTalk 104.7 should be carrying the nightcap.

The Bucs thumped Cincinnati in the first game, 13-1. Paul Maholm continued his strong spring by throwing 4.2 innings of shutout baseball. Most of the run producing was contributed by our AAAA players, but Chris Duffy had a nice line at the top of the order, going 2 for 4 with two runs.

Shawn Chacon is the anti-Paul Maholm, with ten outs via the fly ball today. Neil Walker and Sean Burnett enter the game in the bottom of the fifth.
