    Good pitching duel so far.

Nick Blackburn has really established himself as a starter. He is pitching another gem tonight.

    So is Sidney Ponson, remarkably.

Maybe Ponson found something that made him effective.

Doors have been blown off here in the sixth…MY homers, Texas punches home three runs on RBI singles from Laird and Vazquez, and Kinsler smashes a three-run shot to left to make it 7-0…

Nick Blackburn just lost it in that inning. Yeah his defense failed him, but he just lost his composure by giving up hits and then giving up home runs.

You know, for all the complaining about Young’s defense, he’s been fantastic tonight…

You know the saying about payback.

The Twins learned it the hard way.

Nick Blackburn just did not have it in the sixth inning, and I just thought he lost focus there. Texas did a good job of getting to him.

For Ponson’s sake and the Rangers’ sake, I hope Sidney can take his job seriously and start being productive. He did a good job tonight. Obviously, he had something to prove to his old team so that help.

Tomorrow should be a good one between Livan and Vincente.

    One more thing.

I wasn’t surprised that Ron Washington got tossed.

I know he was defending Milton Bradley, but Washington hasn’t been happy with the umpiring crew in this series. He barked at Tim Tschida on Monday night concerning the strike at Ian Kinsler and then he and Jim Joyce got into it too. This was bound to happen.

Blackburn looked incredibly flustered after Kinsler’s homer - not that I blame him, mind you, but that just kinda stuck with me.

Not surprised that Washington was tossed, either. I will submit that the strike call on Bradley that prompted his ejection and Washington’s was garbage, but then I’ve felt that these past three games in Minnesota have been some of the most poorly called games in terms of balls and strikes of the season.

That’s not an attempt to de-legitimize the Twins’ first two wins, mind you - it’s anybody’s guess if the outcomes would have been altered, regardless.
