Rangers stake Padilla to a 4-0 lead in the first, and Vicente escapes a bases loaded, one out jam in the first thanks to a Delmon Young GIDP…
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:00 pm
Chris Shelton proves his worth with a line shot down the left field line…6-3 Texas…
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:19 pm
Why is Jamey Wright pitching?
I thought Padilla would pitch here.
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:21 pm
Wright started the sixth inning well, but has given up a single and walk to bring the tying run to the plate…
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:28 pm
Garbage call by home plate umpire Adrian Johnson results in Wright walking in a run…6-4 Rangers…
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:32 pm
And now 6-5, as Frankie walks in a run on another extremely borderline 3-2 strike call…this is ridiculous…
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:32 pm
This is getting little crazy, but then again, it’s Metrodome baseball where anything can happen.
Tom Grieve is really calling out the umps, eh.
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:33 pm
Francisco gets by.
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:34 pm
Morneau pops out to left to end the frame, but this is a ballgame again…
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:35 pm
Hey there, Leslie…
I have to wonder if Grieve has ever received an edict from the league to cut back on his umpire ripping, because he’s about the most extreme announcer in that regard that I’ve ever seen…
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:36 pm
Bradley walks to begin the seventh…
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:37 pm
And now Murphy serves one into left field…two on, no out, and Laird coming up…
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:38 pm
Guerrier has been shaky this season.
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:38 pm
Oh man…Guerrier had an easy force out at third, but rushed his throw and threw wide of third base into left field…7-5 with runners on second and third and nobody out…
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:39 pm
Joey: I don’t know about the umpires sending Tom Grieve an edict. Ken Harrelson rips on the umpires often on the White Sox telecast.
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:40 pm
Nice play by Lamb at third to snag a Byrd hot shot on the carpet and gun him down at first while holding Murphy at third…
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:40 pm
The Twins have been shaky as a defensive team all season. I swear as exciting as this team is, they can drive you nuts with their play. You just don’t know what to expect.
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:41 pm
Thanks for that update, Leslie…I try to steer clear of White Sox broadcasts as often as possible…
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:43 pm
And Shelton grounds into a 4-6-3 inning-ending double play…this could become very interesting if CJ gets the ninth inning call with the Rangers only up one or two runs…
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:46 pm
Josh Lewin just called out the umpiring crew in this series.
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:47 pm
Ken Harrleson is a jackass. I don’t like him and the White Sox in general. Harrelson always has to bash the Twins often. He once stated in the telecast that he hates the team on the air. He said that as he went nuts one day after Torii Hunter nailed Jamie Burke at home plate. I thought it was disgusting.
Harrelson does not add any insights to his telecast. He comes out dull too. He is just a cartoon character on the air.
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:51 pm
Clean inning for Texas.
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:53 pm
Why are the Twins playing that stupid “Sweet Caroline” song?
May 22nd, 2008 at 12:55 pm
I really enjoy listening to the Texas broadcast. Lewin and Grieve just talk baseball. Most announcers are just over-the-top when it comes to homerism.
May 22nd, 2008 at 1:06 pm
Well, this looks like incoming disaster…tying runs in scoring position with one out in the eighth, and Cuddyer/Morneau up…
May 22nd, 2008 at 1:07 pm
And Benoit walks Cuddyer…oh good grief…
May 22nd, 2008 at 1:09 pm
RBI base hit for Morneau…7-7…
Sigh…
May 22nd, 2008 at 1:10 pm
This bullpen blows. What the hell are we going to do about this recurring nightmare?
May 22nd, 2008 at 1:25 pm
Good question, JDolla. I haven’t taken an in-depth look at Benoit’s struggles as I have with CJ, but it’s clear the walks (15 in 20.2 IP) have been killing him.
Saltalamacchia up with the game on the line in the ninth…
May 22nd, 2008 at 1:25 pm
And Jarrod fans against Nathan to end the top of the ninth…this isn’t shaping up well…
May 22nd, 2008 at 1:32 pm
Crazy game, eh.
May 22nd, 2008 at 1:33 pm
You can have Jesse Crain and Juan Rincon if you want, Rangers fans.
May 22nd, 2008 at 1:42 pm
Rangers have the worst bullpen ERA in baseball at 5.04…today isn’t going to help that…
May 22nd, 2008 at 1:42 pm
Josh Hamilton does it again!!!
May 22nd, 2008 at 1:45 pm
Here comes C.J….oh boy…
May 22nd, 2008 at 1:57 pm

That was a relief. I had visions of BS (blown save). Good to see CJ step up and throw strikes. Good win there boys.
