Notes: Per Richard Durrett of the Dallas Morning News:

Jarrod Saltalamacchia, who didn’t play last night because his sore groin was still bothering him, is throwing from home to second base under the watchful eyes of Matt Walbeck and Ron Washington. I’m sure they are putting him through some drills to see if he’s healthy enough to play tonight.

Hank Blalock was out running around as usual about 30 minutes ago. If he stays on track, he’ll play in Frisco on Monday in a rehab assignment and could join the Rangers right after the All-Star break.

Gerald Laird was also going through a workout as he tries to come back soon from a left hamstring strain. He’s targeting the series in Chicago from July 21-23.

“Due to rain, the game will be delayed shortly. The rain is light, and scattered, so it seems certain that the game will be played.”

Passing set of showers coming from the south into the Metroplex…this should pass within the next hour hopefully, but we may be looking at a relatively late start tonight…
