    Should be a good series.

    Looking forward to it.

The Twins have the third most home wins.

They are a great home team so I expect the Twins to win the series. It’s going to be tough though. From a distance, I admired how Texas has played all season.

FSN North’s Ann Carroll is bad. She just called Justin Morneau as “Joel Morneau”.

The Twins telecast have been talking up the HR Derby duel between Morneau and Hamilton in that first inning. I expect that to be the theme of the series.

    Quick inning for Milwood.

Perkins does well in the second inning.

Good catch by Boggs to end the inning.

I thought Buscher had enough for a base hit, which could have gave the Twins a 1-0 lead.

Taylor Teagarten is a beautiful name.

Perkins has been good after three innings.

    Three complete.

    No score.

Perkins and Milwood have been great so far.

Let’s see how they do as they face the hitters the second time around.

Hey there, Leslie…really out of it so I ended up taking a short nap…

The key play of the game so far has to be Milton Bradley getting caught stealing. Had Milton stayed and Byrd got his hit, Texas would take the lead, 1-0.

    Still scoreless though.

Sleeping is a beautiful thing, Joey.

I can sleep the entire day.

I just love being in bed.

It could have been worse for Milwood there.

He is fortunate to get a 1-0 lead.

Of course if Kinsler caught the ball for the final out, it would be scoreless.

    Perkins has been great tonight.

The Twins are going to need more of that from him for the rest of the season if they are going to be a playoff team. The Twins got so many young players who are venturing into unchartered territory of playing deep into September. It will be interesting if they can handle it. Star-Tribune Twins beat writer Lavelle E. Neal III talked about that in today’s paper.

    Good bounce-back inning by Milwood.

He has to keep this at bay because you know Texas is going to score runs. It’s rare they get shutout.

    Pressure is on Perkins.

  17. Leslie Monteiro says:

    Perkins has owned Hamilton tonight.

  18. Leslie Monteiro says:

    July 18th, 2008 at 6:44 pm

Bradley should have been called out on strike there.

Perkins threw two good pitches that was strikes.

  19. Leslie Monteiro says:

    July 18th, 2008 at 6:48 pm

    Perkins survives the sixth.

He made some darn good pitches.

I will be shocked if he comes in the seventh inning. Texas made him labor out there. He is at 100 pitches I think after that sixth inning.

  20. Leslie Monteiro says:

    July 18th, 2008 at 6:59 pm

    That second run was huge.

I have hard time believing the Twins were going to win a 1-0 against this Texas team. I don’t feel secure with a 2- 0 lead.

  21. Leslie Monteiro says:

    July 18th, 2008 at 7:01 pm

This has been a good game to watch.

    Perkins and Milwood pitched well.

Difference here is the Twins got the key hits with RISP while Texas did not.

  22. Leslie Monteiro says:

    July 18th, 2008 at 7:03 pm

Turning point of the game may have been when Bradley was caught stealing. Had he did not steal, Byrd got the hit and Texas lead 1-0.

  23. Leslie Monteiro says:

    July 18th, 2008 at 7:06 pm

Good read and catch by Justin Morneau to get the second out.

Plays like that makes a difference in wins and losses.

  24. Leslie Monteiro says:

    July 18th, 2008 at 7:10 pm

Ron Washington must not trust his bullpen much to have Milwood go in the seventh to protect a 2-0 lead. Milwood is getting up there with the number of pitches. He is at 100.

  25. Leslie Monteiro says:

    July 18th, 2008 at 7:19 pm

Well this is probably it for the Rangers tonight.

4 runs should do it for the Twins.

  26. Joey Matschulat says:

    July 18th, 2008 at 7:29 pm

What a thorough whomping…6-0 Twins in the eighth…

  27. Leslie Monteiro says:

    July 18th, 2008 at 8:05 pm

To think it was a very close game though.

Milwood was done and Texas’ relievers just stunk.

    Glen Perkins was huge.
