Weekend Observations

OK that’s a little better.  Although, seriously, against that band of rejects, the Reds really should sweep a four-game series.  Does anyone miss Austin Kearns?  Felipe Lopez?  Dmitri Young?  Sily Mo? Aaron Boone?  Me neither.  There’s a reason we got rid of them.  They stink…and bad!!!

Thought the camo jerseys were ridiculous looking.  Appreciate the reason for them, but they looked bad IMO.  I do like the fact they got the flags on the sleeves right despite the confusion of whether they were backward. 

Just two errors on the homestand.  That’ll work!!  (Joey, get in front of the ball!)

Nice weekend from Cordero!!  Wow, it’s nice to have a horse like that you can count on.  Yes, he blew Saturday’s, but he got the win.  And Sunday wasn’t all his fault. 

I think it’s a crock that Junior got passed over the weekend by Braun and Fukudome.  Where’s the love, Reds fans???  A BREWER passed Junior??  I don’t care how good a season Braun is having, Junior is still a fan favorite…or I thought he was. 

The Central is getting pretty good in case you haven’t looked.  The Cubs, Cards, and now Brewers are legitimate contenders for the N.L. pennant let alone the division.  (Let’s hope CC walks at the end of this year!)

Will Keppinger get a hit this month?  I doubt if Patterson will.

Never thought I’d say this, but I hope Jerry Hairston Jr’s back is ok. 

Man do I like this formula: Starter throws 6, Bray 7th, Burton 8th, Cordero 9th…This One Belongs To The Reds!!

Anyone miss Ryan Freel?  Me neither.  Hairston fills his roll MUCH MUCH MUCH better and for less money and far fewer head scratches.

Hurry back, Norris Hopper.  And even though we don’t really need you at this point, hurry back Alex Gonzalez.  You don’t deserve the two years of hell you’ve endured here. 

The Reds are only four games below .500.  Why does it seem like it’s 24 games below??
