4/6: He's Back
| Prev. Gm:
|
Boston Red Sox (3-3) @ Toronto Blue Jays (3-2)
Josh Beckett (0-0, -.--) @ Roy Halladay (0-1, 3.86) 1:07 PM EDT | Rogers Centre (Toronto, CAN) TV: TBS | NESN | RADIO: WEEI 850, WROL 950 |
GAME NOTES: Josh Beckett is back to (hopefully) bail out a sluggish team. The trip to Japan has officially been deemed a "joke" and the Red Sox just haven't looked like themselves for a few games now. Hopefully the return of the 2007 MVP of the Red Sox can turn things around.

second guessing begins. should he have left beckett in? can you really blame delcarman for the grand slam on the first pitch.
Also, as much as i love theo for what he has done for us, i wish he didn't say anything about mussina whining after the '04 trip. i think that he is going to give the players an aneurism trying to keep tight about complaining.

I don't think you can blame him for taking Beckett out when he did. Beckett had no spring and it isn't worth stretching him in high leverage at bats when he is deep into his pitch count.
As for MDC, he missed his spot with a meaty fastball. He definitely gets blame for that.
Lugo's looking pretty bad in the field today....just ugly.
This team needs a little Fenway Park love....

Yankee fan here. I think the comment about Mussina was a little too early by Theo. Sure, they whinned, but he should had waited to see his players reaction first. That trip is not an easy thing on any team, and his comments are looking worse every time.

His comments are looking worse every time? What are you talking about? Everyone knows it's hard to travel to Japan. The point is that the team doesn't have to whine about it. They can just deal with it like the professionals they should be. God knows they're paid enough.

So, MDC is out of high-leverage situations, right? Dude simply doesn't have anything now. Problem is, nobody else does either.

Here's a plan: forfeit the next five games, spend the time catching up on sleep, then go out and finish the season 153-9.
