GAME NOTES: The offense showed up last night. Unfortunately, the pitching didn't. Beckett will attempt to right the ship and give the bullpen, which has been taxed lately, a break. It's imperative for Beckett to go deep into the game. Moose got lucky last time out and turned in a decent outing. Let's change that this time.

Good to see Youk in the lineup; I was a bit worried Tito would hold him out because of the toe.

I was almost sure Tito was gonna hold back Youk today, it would have been nice to see Lowrie and Possibly Thurston in the line up for the one game, but not against the Yankees, and if Youk is feeling good enough to go then let him loose!

HAHA ya i know but he wasnt close with the throw to Ellsbury, and does anyone else think Papi does too much talking or complaining when he doesn't get a call. Seems like this is begining to be a habit and may eventually come to bite him in the butt. Doesn't seem that he is making any friends with the umpires

I think it's already biting him: he's getting a lot of wide pitches called for strikes, which is only making things worse.

Looks like i was right when i said mussina was gonna be out of the game by the 4th inning. As Remy said Mussina has absolutly nothing. The question i have is Mussina a Hall Of Famer?

man i love Beckett, it's just amazing watching mow down that lineup so easily, Dice-k should be taking notice of this and stop nibling hitters and pound the strike zone.

at least albadeljo has some upside as a middle reliever, Mussina should not be allowed to be near a pitching mound

Since this has already been a long season, and these 5 Sox-Yankee games felt like the playoffs, it feels good to be in 1st Place on 4/15, just like 2007. Come on Daisuke, Jon and Wake this weekend. Don't let down.
And Tito, play Lowrie at SS to have a Portland/Pawtucket bred 1st, 2nd, SS, CF, SP, RP in one game. Sign of things to come.
Worth a mention. Bruins, B.C., Harvard, Revolution, Celts, Pats, Sox . . . Wow! That's a first in my long lifetime.
