5/9: We can’t lose to a guy named Boof can we?
Prev. Gm:![]() |
Boston Red Sox (23-14) @ Minnesota Twins (17-16) |
GAME NOTES:
The Red Sox storm into Minnesota coming off a series win in Detroit having won eight of their last ten games. The bats are clicking, none hotter than Kevin Youkilis, as Jon Lester takes the hill having given up only five hits and one run over fourteen innings in his last two outings. The Red Sox took last years’ three game set in Minnesota, winning two of three, but this is a new look Twins team. Gone are Torri Hunter and Johan Santana, but new faces like speedy Carlos Gomez (13 SB) and old foes Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau are hungry to knock the Sox off.

Flugo.

Harris deserves to be plunked in the ass for that time out call. And Flugo needs to go the %(^^ away.

This is unbelievable … part of me feels sorry for him cuz this is just sad to watch … but mostly I just want to see his ass off the team … now

Where’s Lowrie?
May 9th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
Morenau put his left hand up and caught Lester’s leg, preventing Lester from keeping a full stride. I hate this Twins team already. I want to see some batters on the ground. Including Lugo.

It’s acting buggy… I wish it worked… hope to get it squared away next week.

Not sure if anyone else is listening to the twins broadcasters, but they are pretty much taunting Lugo to hit into a double play to make sure he has a really bad night.

^ Thanks Evan. Hope it’s not too much work.

Is it me or did the ump missed the call? I thought Delmon was safe there.

The Tigers TV announcers are great. The Twins TV announcers are the absolute worst. Apparently Papelbon throws in the “low 90s,” Okijima throws a “screwball,” and their audience doesn’t care to hear about defensive replacements. It is torture listening to them. I hope I get NESN for the rest of this series.

Sooooo, we’re not in the business of throwing out baserunners in the 9th inning anymore? Pretty costly move if you ask me…
May 9th, 2008 at 11:36 pm
Can’t blame this one on Lugo…
May 9th, 2008 at 11:41 pm
Fucking ugly dude. Wow Papelbon, perhaps the taint of Lugo was spread to you. Gotta get your game back and STAT. Take a shower, get drunk, get a massage…just do something!
Other than that Lowell proves his worth and our offense bailed Lester out of a jam…but damn does that suck balls. Tomorrow will be different though. Beckett avenged Papelbon’s loss last night, now let’s see if Dice-K can do the same without walking 8+.
