Going the distance
David Ortiz homered twice while Josh Beckett gave up four long balls in Boston's 11-7 win over the Brew Crew.
Beckett improved to 5-3 on the season despite the four tall jacks pitching for 7 innings, striking out nine but giving up six runs.
With the win Boston currently sits atop first place in the A.L. East one game ahead of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Star of the Game:¬ Papi
3-5 with four RBI's and two homeruns gets the nod here.¬ But most importantly it is great to finally see Ortiz get clicking at the plate.¬ As Red Sox manager Terry Francona did say that Ortiz looked to be at his best this whole season at the plate in the win.
Preview of Next Game: Series vs the Royals
Just going to ask a question here:¬ Can we win against bad teams?

Has he been crappy? Not last year's Becket yet, but he has also pitched brilliantly in a couple of starts. He has also been injured (2x) and flu-ed.
Are you worried about him? Yesterday, he threw strikes and K's, alot of innings, and left 3 breaking balls up, to the Brewers version of Papi and Manny (Fielder and Braun) in a hitter friendly park. IMO, the entire rotation is struggling to return to top form. Let them all get some R&R under their belt at home, and see what happens over the next several weeks.
