Call David Ortiz’s shot

If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

State Farm has a promotion that directly involves a Red Sox player who we all know and love: David Ortiz.

Enter the promotion daily through June 24th at Call Your Shot and the grand prize winner gets to stand next to Big Papi at the Home Run Derby during the All-Star Game (at Yankee Stadium) and call the home run location of a single delivery for Ortiz. The winner also will receive an all-expense paid trip for four to the All-Star Game and State Farm Home Run Derby, first class hotel accommodations in New York, tickets to a Broadway show and $1,000 MasterCard gift card. Pretty heavy stuff; I’ll be applying.

Additionally, 10 fans will win first place prizes consisting of a $300 MLB.com gift card and 25 second prize winners will receive $100 MLB.com gift cards.

For such a big reward, it isn’t going to go too much trouble to enter every day, so I’ll be doing it. (You do have to acquiesce to them phoning or e-mailing you to discuss a form of insurance, but checking off e-mail wouldn’t be too much of a deal, right? Considering we all get spam anyways…)

Disclosure: In exchange for publicizing this information, I was offered a $50 MLB.com gift card. I have publicized information from State Farm before and gave away the gift card last time. This time, however, I’m going to keep it and buy a new clock (because I need one).

A new clock is what you are going to spend 50 dollars on. That is one damn expensive clock.
