Streak ended

Tim Wakefield gave up 8 earned runs over 5 innings and Boston’s winning streak ended as they were beat by Rich Harden and the Oakland Athletics 8-3.
Harden struck out 8, yielded two runs, and pitched for 6 innings to earn the victory (3-0).
Dustin Pedroia hit his 3rd homerun of the season and Jacoby Ellsbury drove in two runs in the loss.
Goat of the Game: Wakefield
Not the outing I expected from Wakefield, but the A’s hit him hard and often to drop him to 3-3.
Preview of Next Game: Lester vs Blanton
Can Lester do it again? Probably not, but it would be nice to see him stay consistent with another solid performance.

I am sure glad we didn’t take a chance on Harden & Street when they were hurt and Billy B. was dangling them out there for younger players trade. Where would we be now if we had pulled THAT trigger?

Not where we are now.
That is for sure.
Ok Will Ferrell is now 1-2. Not liking those odds.

Sorry. Anonymous was me. On a high note, Aardsma and Timlin did their jobs well tonite, Dustin and Jacoby continued to hit and make things happen.
And Shawn, I like where we are now, in 1st place. We might be 35 - 16 or better if Harden had not beaten us 3x this year, and Street had been an option in late innings during the past 50 games.
We are still the Sox, but we still haven’t ‘replaced’ Santana (Colon??), Gagne and . . . well, OK, Julio’s been doing pretty well of late.

man, our pitching completely sucks right now, btw, Beckett is the one pitching today, not Lester.

i love Tim Wakefield, he is a great guy and all but seriously, how long are we going to stand his suckiness, he should be sent to the pen or home and give his spot to Clay.

My mistake … I swear ESPN is wrong everytime when the Red Sox do not put it up.
