Tonight's starting lineups...

Arizona Diamondbacks

1. Eric Byrnes, LF

2. Stephen Drew, SS

3. Orlando Hudson, 2B

4. Conor Jackson, 1B

5. Chad Tracy, DH

6. Mark Reynolds, 3B

7. Chris Young, CF

8. Chris Snyder, C

9. Justin Upton, RF

Dan Haren, SP

(EB has Haren batting 9th and Upton out of the lineup, but I doubt that’s accurate.)

Boston Red Sox

1. Jacoby Ellsbury, LF

2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B

3. J.D. Drew, RF

4. Manny Ramirez, DH

5. Mike Lowell, 3B

6. Kevin Youkilis, 1B

7. Jason Varitek, C

8. Coco Crisp, CF

9. Julio Lugo, SS

Josh Beckett, SP

I'm kind of ... conflicted about this game. Love the Sox, but I'm also a huge Dan Haren fan. (Random tangent: only game I've seen at Fenway was Sox/A's with Haren pitching for Oakland.)

On a different note, I love having four Sox games in five days on TV in San Fran. FOX on Saturday (ok, so that was painful), TBS yesterday, ESPN today, ESPN2 on Wednesday. Can't remember the last time the Sox got this much national attention in a single week!

I'm not conflicted at all. GO SOX!

I'm pulling for the Sox. I'd just prefer not to see Haren get hammered. Ah, what the heck, beat him relentlessly.

Felix Hernandez just hit a Grand Slam off Johan Santana. Yes, that Felix Hernandez, and that Johan Santana.

I know you're pulling for the Sox; I was just teasing. However, your boy Haren is going to have an easy night if he keeps getting three outs on six pitches.

Just made a helluva play on Coco's bunt, too. But on that note, Coco: stop taking bunting lessons from Lugo. It's only going to make you worse.

So what is the MLB record for most wasted leadoff doubles in a season?

Dustin's first strikeout in God knows how long. Figured if broadcasters kept saying it every time he came to bat, he'd do it eventually.

Did we waste three in a row in the 10th-11th-12th yesterday? That's four straight now, right?

Yes - three yesterday, one (so far) today. This team really stinks at moving runners over.

I've got Upton, Reynolds, Owings and Johnson on my fantasy team so I'm biting my tongue real hard this series.

PS. Is the 6-6 start by Owings a fluke so far? I expected him to put up big numbers this season...

DAMN YOUK....in hindsight, this was a bad team for Sean Casey to drop his appeal and start his suspension. If we lose Youk, who's going to play first?

*time.

And whew, we've got Moss. I forgot about him.

I was just going to say that. Had a feeling this was going to happen. And the Brandon Moss-at-first experiment begins.

I'm sure Youk will be back tomorrow. No way a black eye's keeping him out.

On a different note, am I the only one that just yelled "EAT IT!" at my TV hoping Lugo wouldn't throw Young's roller away? Didn't get the out, but I was sure he'd throw it 10 feet to the left of Moss.

What happened to Youk?

I'm at the office pretending to work and listening to WRKO, so no, I didn't yell. I WANTED to, but I didn't.

MR - Youk got hit in the eye by a bad-hop grounder tossed by Lowell between innings.

I don't know what's up with Gameday today...something's weird there.

But dammit, Manny clobbered that thing. If Reynolds didn't have a glove on, he'd be dead. Just had to hit it right at him...

This homestand has not been lucky, if you believe in luck, which we all do.
