BOS 5, OAK 2: Sweep complete
Jed Lowrie's triple to deep center field that plated two was the difference in the Red Sox 5-2 win.
It gave Boston a 3-0 edge at the time and Boston led the rest of the way through as Daisuke Matsuzaka earned his 12th win over six innings of work with only two walks today and eight K's.
Jonathan Papelbon notched his 31st save of the season.
Star of the Game: Dice-K
Finally a low amount of walks and he ate up enough innings for a win to keep Boston rolling.
Next Game: Sweep KC
Honestly, its Kansas City and we are hot right now.

The rain delay had me a little worried because it ensured that we'd see 3 innings of bullpen, but Oki and MDC were good. There is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't sweep KC, maybe Clay can get his season turned around tommorow.

Lowell is doing what Lowell always does (save for his outlier season of 2007) by falling apart after the ASB. As of today he's down to exactly his career averages, and that's before we factor in his terrible .265 .331 .393 .724 August career split. This is going to get worse before it gets better.

Troy - that interview was hilarious. I just stared at my fiance for confirmation of what Tito said, just so I could be sure I wasn't insane.
