Sounds like the Sox have agreed to a deal for Mark Kotsay, but they need Kotty to waive his no-trade clause, which should be simple enough.

hilarious, they don't call him 'pastadiving' jeter for nothing. There is no excuse for that cruddy grounder making the outfield.
Wakes doesn't look great, but fortunately that hypocritical jackass pettitte looks worse.

Need to stretch this lead a little. I don't know what to think of getting Kotsay, I guess it's really a no-lose proposition. He's a premium defensive player and he probably has a better bat than Crisp. Maybe he'll welcome playing in a hitter's park for the first time in his career.

welcome mark! May you hit the game winning homer in a world series clincher for us like kielty last year.

Robinson Cano is my least favorite player. I dislike him more than Jeter and A-Fraud combined.

That said Kotsay was one of my favorite Braves this season. They've sold off so many pieces that I don't even consider going to games anymore. At least at the beginning of the year I could go see Tex, they should have been a much better team this season.

Does anyone have a confirmation on Kotsay? I haven't been able to find anything anywhere else.

Well scratch that, the Globe just posted something.

Ok good...four run cushion.
But we are NOT out of the woods yet.

Booing A-Rod...as a Sox fan I laugh but as a baseball fan I'm disgusted by such "loyalty."

Who are we to judge as Red Sox fans. Plenty of "The Nation" boo our own players.

Good job by Wake limiting the damage there. With the way Nady has been I wanted no part of him.

HINSKE!!! Why could you not do that in Boston?!?
But seriously, four run cushion restored. Let's keep the defense going and remember we're not out of the woods until it says BOT 9, 3 out.

Yeah, but bob, most of the time they didn't have a 1.0 OPS

I do wonder if Kotsay would hit better than Crisp. I don'tknow if that's a foregone conclusion.

Why do the initials MDC always inspire apprehension in me?

Again someone give me a good explanation why Masterson didn't start this inning. Now he's gotta clean up someone else's mess.

god I hate mdc, and I want to like him so much. Dammit.

Good...now I'm all nerved up and whatever happens will not be Masterson's fault but it still makes me hate MDC even more.
Just love the bullpen moves sometimes. Why put MDC in Tito? Why?

I love you A-Rod and I love you Masterson. Can someone fire MDC though please?

Jays rocking the Rays right now. They want 3rd place and then some.
Hey guys...who's up for giving the Jays third place, a spot they deserve more than NY?

I blame MDC for leaving his fail taint and contaminating Masterson for that small period.

We're still not out of the woods (hate to be the broken record). Let's hope Paps can help to seal the deal.
Some extra runs in the 9th wouldn't hurt either...

Thank you Paps. Rays lose. Let's wrap this sucker up.

Good solid win. Let's beat the hell out of Ponson tommorow and then let Lester bury them on Thursday.

Bob, that is entirely possible, at least statistically, but never, ever, as Tim says, taunt the Yankees. From years of behavioral training, I can't rest easy until they are mathematically eliminated.
How do you like the bottom of this order for a change??? Somewhat happy for Kotsay, but Coco is still a game-saving defender, and IL MVP Bailey looks like he is about to break out and do an Ellsbury, alongside Lowrie. How do we get them adequate playing time???
