Sox Prospects posting Beckett came out fine...no surgery. The link does not work that hey gave but seems legit.

Sorry, didn't see that in your post already Bob. I just hope he is back by mid Sept.

I actually like this lineup, Kotsay should be more productive than Ellsbury in the leadoff spot and as much as I'd like to see Ells over Coco, o well... I think that Drew should leadoff when he gets back, thoughts?

That ChiSox lineup is fairly imposing though, nice when you can have a guy with Crede's pop in the 9 slot, although Alexei Ramirez is the most overrated player in the game

i think the red sox should make beckett and his right arm sleep frozen in carbonite every night.

Seriously... He slept on it wrong, I do that all the time after a long night...the man has millions you'd think he'd find a tempurpedic or something

Good lineup. Kotsay has done well at leadoff, and he will get extra AB's to learn hitting at Fenway. Ells could use a day off, and Coco has been hotter this road trip. He is auditioning for a full time job somewhere, so it's crunch time. It would be good if, like same age Youk, he found his mature power groove at Fenway and winds up adding another tool to his impressive resume.

I have a tempurpedic, one of the better investments I've ever made

So is it safe to say that Youk is starting to slump a little?

I was a little surprised to find out earlier this week that Kotsay is only 32, seems like he's been around forever. I gues injuries and pitchers parks have robbed him of what could have been a much more productive hitting career

The Red Sox are planning to call up Michael Bowden prior to Saturday's game, the Providence Journal reports.

any chance tek gets his BA up to .250 for the season? the math would probably require a .300+ BA for the rest of the season, although im too lazy to do it.

Excellent win against a very good team, don't look not but the Red Sox seem to be clicking at the right time. They've flown under the radar all season, gonna be dangerous at the end.

Bob, are you really waiting for Youk's second half swoon? Not with just a handful of games left. But someone . . . Bailey, Kotsay, please give him a rest. Too bad that Thurston didn't give Pedroia a rest while he was up. We don't want these two to run out of gas.

Actually no Gerry, I know it seems like I'm not that high on Youk, but I love him just as much as anyone. I just was a little underwhelmed by him in the Yankee series and he wasn't that great in the beginning of this game. Of course he picked up a couple of hits later and made me look like an idiot. At this point in my life I've sorta gotten used to that.
