the Metrodome eats Tigers
Noms them right up, it does. You can try to tell me that there aren’t any needle-sharp teeth built into that ‘dome, but I won’t believe you, not one bit. Did you see what it did to the Tigers this weekend? It ATE them. It’s got a definite taste for bats, at the very least.
Those were just a couple of ugly, ugly games. The poor starters… Justin looked good for most of Saturday and just couldn’t get any help at all from the bats, and today Kenny pitched well (so I hear; I missed most of the game ’cause I was at the UM/OSU baseball game) but it was all for naught.
A 6-run lead should not be squandered. That’s, you know, pretty basic baseball. You get 6 runs in the first inning, you win that game. Unless the Metrodome is trying to eat you, apparently. And I don’t care how cute Joe Mauer was when he was a wee baby ballplayer, it’s NOT cute when he’s all grown up and hitting runs off your pitchers.
I’m a bit worried that Zach Miner has actually been swallowed by the ‘dome, and we will never see him again.
Things are gonna be kind of lame around here for a few days: I’m dead tired right now from packing and move-out stuff (bye, Ann Arbor! It’s been a pretty great 5 years!), and I’m going to be at the first two games in the Red Sox series, so don’t expect much more than little blurbs on those, as I’ll probably be deliriously tired by the end. And I won’t be able to get photos up right away, as I’ll only have limited computer use for a couple days. So that’s the plan, kids and kittens. Normal service should resume shortly thereafter.
Whatever passes for normal around here, anyhow.

hey I’ll be at the game on Tuesday! We should meet up!
(Totally ignoring the weekend series, as the Metrodome swallowed me whole as well.)

Let’s hear it for bachelor’s degrees! I got me one of them this week, too. (Approx. 12 yrs late, but we’ll ignore that.) Congratulations to us. Hoping I could land a job as a MLB middle reliever, but everybody keeps asking if I’m left-handed. Sigh.
The job market:
George: I like sports. I could do something in sports.
Jerry: Uh-huh. Uh-huh. In what capacity?
George: You know, like the general manager of a baseball team or something.
Jerry: Yeah. Well, that - that could be tough to get.
George: Well, it doesn’t even have to be the general manager. Maybe I could be like, an announcer. Like a color man. You know how I always make those interesting comments during the game.
Jerry: Yeah. Yeah. You make good comments.
George: What about that?
Jerry: Well, they tend to give those jobs to ex-ballplayers and people that are, you know, in broadcasting.
George: Well, that’s really not fair.

Congrats back atcha, Matt! I keep hoping MLB needs someone with dodgy Photoshop skills, but alas, I think they’re covered there…
