A’s Disable Street

Oakland placed RHP Huston Street on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 13, with an irritation in his right ulnar nerve and selected RHP Connor Robertson from Triple-A Sacramento.

The ninth player to land on the Oakland disabled list is potentially the most damaging. With Street on the DL and set-up man Justin Duchscherer battling an arthritic hip, manager Bob Geren will turn to the dreaded “Closer By Committee” which will include Jay Witasick, Kiko Calero and Alan Embree.

The first game with the new setup wasn’t a success as the A’s used three pitcher to blow a three run lead in the ninth inning before finally putting the game away in extra innings.

Street, with irritation in his right ulnar nerve, is due to visit arm specialist Dr. Lewis Yokum to determine the course of treatment. An MRI will follow.
