Dodgers Appear To Be Interested In Inge

Danny Knobler of Michigan Live reports that the Los Angeles Dodgers front-office has contacted the Detroit Tigers about possibly acquiring third-baseman Brandon Inge.  Inge requested a trade earlier this off season after his club traded for perennial all-star Miguel Cabrera, but hasn’t found a new home, mainly because of his $19.1M still owed to him.

This doesn’t make much sense for the Dodgers, as they already have veteran Nomar Garciaparra and 23-year old Andy LaRoche competing for the spot.  This rumor should be shot down, as I can’t see the Dodgers taking on more salary and acquiring a player at a position where they don’t seem to have a need.
