Millwood goes to DL

Yesterday, Kevin Millwood was forced to leave his start against the A’s after facing just three batters because of a mild injury to his groin, and was labeled as day-to-day.

Well, not anymore, with texasrangers.com reporting that Millwood has been placed on the DL with a strained right groin muscle. Not good news for the Rangers when considering Millwood’s history of injuries. He’s the ace of the staff, and they really do need him in an already bad rotation.

However, the biggest reason why they would be upset over this is that they are looking to trade Millwood this summer. Obviously, his trade value will be worse if he is injured or has one or two stints on the DL. Teams know about his tendency to get hurt and won’t take any chances.

Hopefully for their sake this is just a one to two week injury, and Millwood will come back being fully healthy. However, I’d be a little nervous if I was them, as this is the type of injury that can start bigger ones.
