Rays Sign 4-Year Pact With Ace Kazmir
The Tampa Bay Rays have locked up yet another quality young player, signing 24-year old ace Scott Kazmir to a 4-year deal worth $28.5M. The deal includes an option for the ‘12 season worth $11M. The 2002 1st-round pick has a 3.63 career ERA with the Rays and hasn’t put up an ERA of over 3.77 in the last three years.
TG Analysis
Another quality deal for the Rays, as they lock up the third young player of the season. They now have Kazmir, James Shields, and corner-stone stud Evan Longoria with their club for quite some time. Kazmir doesn’t seem to have any problems with producing the way he has the last three years, so don’t expect this deal to come back and bite Tampa.
