Arizona Designates Salazar
News out of Arizona, as the Diamondbacks have decided to designate 27-year old outfielder Jeff Salazar. Jeff was used in mainly a reserve role this year and batted .202 with 2 home-runs and 10 RBI in 99 at-bats.
TG Analysis
Out of all the free-agent outfielders besides You Know Who, it seems like Salazar would be the best outfield option for teams looking for some depth. He’s only 27-years old, and still has room for improvement. Just last season, he hit .299 with 10 HR and 68 RBI in Arizona’s AAA team, so there’s no doubt that he can turn around a productive season in the major leagues. He also put up a 29 home-run season back when he was a Colorado Rockie farmhand, so the power is there.
