Twins Killings

Twins mess with Texas

Blowout victories goes to the team that does everything right.

That’s exactly what happened with the Twins last night.

After a come-from-behind victory Monday night, the Twins cruised to an 11-4 victory against the Rangers last night thanks to good hitting, efficient pitching, and excellent defense.

The Twins have won the first two games of the series, and they are now in a position to go take the series tonight or tomorrow.

Rangers starter Doug Mathis set the tone in the home’s team victory.

Mathis was just not good. He gave up eight hits, and he walked four batters. It did not help that his infielders made some errors.

The Twins made Mathis pay by getting timely hits when he had runners on base all night long.

He was done by the third inning, and that was it for him and the Texas Rangers.

Glen Perkins finished the Rangers off once he got the lead. He pitched six scoreless innings, and he struck out three in the process. He left the game in the middle of the seventh inning after Texas was able to string some hits off him.

Perkins got his first win of his Major League career as a result of his work.

What can anyone say about Perkins? All he does is get the job done. He also saved the bullpen as the relievers were not used much. The only reliever that pitched last night was Brandon Bass, who finished the game up with two and two-third  good innings.

He has established himself as a starter no matter how well Boof Bonser, who pitched a good game Monday night, does the rest of the way.

The Twins also got couple of good defensive plays, which featured Justin Morneau making a catch by the stands and Alexi Casilla making an excellent catch.

This type of performance was what the doctor ordered for the Twins.
