Olbermann on the new Yankee Stadium

Big hats off to River Ave Blues for bringing this to us.

For those who don’t know, I am a big Keith Olbermann fan. Well, Olbermann took an exclusive tour of the new stadium and played some clips for a piece on his show.

I don’t care what anybody says tearing down a park where a team won 26 championships is just wrong. Bad Ju Ju.
Fewer seats, skyboxes, higher prices, more exclusivity. The media waxes nostalgic about the history of the game, and here we are on the verge of demolishing one the great sports landmarks in the country.
Christ, we can’t get right what Boston figured out.
I hope someone in the front office remembers to give Mystique and Destiny, the new address across the street.

I agree Pete. I am psyched for the new place, but i am sadder to see the old one go. Why not remodel it?

For all of its grandeur, the slated T.V. outfield
panorama shot will not showcase the Stadium’s defining exterior character or the frieze. This key angle should be utilized to incorporate these signature elements in order to maximize its interior identity. Since it is going to be, all efforts should be made to distinguish this setting from any other venue. Many have voiced that they would like to see the vintage exterior character have a prominent role throughout the interior, and the home run camera shot is the opportune place to achieve this and imprint an unmistakable identity for the new Yankee Stadium.

There’s nothing I’d like to do more to the snarky, cocky, self-centered Olbermann than to reach through the TV set, rip off his glasses, smash them to bits, then give him a broken nose.

I find him to be an obnoxious bastard. That’s being nice.

So Mike S., wanting to break someone’s nose because you find him obnoxious doesn’t make you obnoxious?

    Birds of a feather…

that james mckenna is living in the past. the new 21st century should bring a new stadium with all the bells and whistles

james mckenna’s comment is the only one that wasn’t grunted out without any thought. The yankees should consider the vintage element for the interior setting. As for Gussie, he probably advocates tearing down the Statue of Liberty for an all purpose K Mart.(bells and whistles included). Plus he seems lonely
