Jason Giambi and His Magic Underwear

Apparently, Jason Giambi is one of those superstitious players. His specialty? A golden thong. To bring himself luck during a slump, Giambi dons the golden thong during games, and has even loaned it out to teammates, most notably, Derek Jeter and Johnny Damon. This might have worked for Giambi in the past, who has had the underwear since his days in Oakland. Since announcing to the media that he wears the underwear, Giambi has gone 2-for-5 with a home run and an RBI. In the four games before that, he was 2-for-12 with no home runs and no RBI’s. Does this thong work in spurts? Will it be even more lucky now that the world knows about it? One thing is for certain though. These guys need to keep the secrets under their pants a secret.
