Northwest Previews with season openers around the corner

It’s been a crazy offseason around the league. With the Donaghy scandal, the Celtics shakeup, Kobe, Marion and AK47 - the insanity has just started. I can’t wait for the games to begin. Neither can these teams and their respective bloggers.

UPDATE: The Sixers waived Derrick Byars.  Too bad he never got a fair shake.  He was set up to fail, and it’s too bad because he’ll make a tremendous pro someday.  Best of luck to you, Derrick!

One of the problems with young players in the NBA is that teams cannot go over the 15 man roster limit and put someone like Derrick in the NBDL.

I’m sure that teams like Philly would pick up Derricks salary for a year or two if Stern would allow it.

The league needs a better plan for growth and the utilization of the NBDL for development.

That’s a good point, Ziti. Something needs to be done about the D-League. It’s not working.
