Celtics ….. Lose? What?

I’m not going to say I am afraid to face the Wizards in the play-offs after watching the Cs drop 3 of 4 games to them during the season, but I will say this, the Eastern Conference is a lot better than people give it credit for.

You hear all the talk about a team with 50 wins missing the play-offs in the West while the lowly East will have a team or two below .500 that makes the play-offs. But hold on. The Celtics and Pistons wouldn’t be underdogs against anyone from the West., Orlando has 50 wins and they stack up very well with all the top teams and Cleveland was last years finalist. When going against Lebron in the play-offs you can throw out the teams record.

The Wizards are 5th and look what they did to the Cs this year. Caron Butler, Gilbert Arenas and Antawn Jamison are near as good of a threesome as the Celtics have, IMO. But they’ve only played 10 games together all season. This is a good club and they will be dangerous. They’ve proved they can beat the Celtics during the season but they haven’t proven they can beat Cleveland in April/May. If they can do that we will be seeing them again. Otherwise it will be the Lebrons.

Kind of funny that the Wiz end up being the team to handle the Cs as it was vs. Washington that it all began. Remember Gilbert Arenas announcing on his blog before the season that the Boston fans might as well cheer for him during the season opener because he was going to send everyone home unhappy as he notched a win?

You can bet things will get even more interesting in the play-offs should the teams meet again because I don’t think there is much love lost between the two teams. Everyone hates Arenas. Nobody likes Brenda Haywood. And DeShaun Stevenson is deplored. And that is just on the Wizards bench. Arenas is bound to start running his trap again at some point and will be all the motivation his opponent (Cleveland, Boston, whoever) needs to beat him.

Four games left for the Cs and they can’t go by fast enough. I can’t wait to be excited to watch a game. If you are getting excited for these current games you need to check yourself in somewhere because you are a little too serious about the Celtics. They can split these last games as far as I am concerned. 64-18 looks good to me. \

Bring on the play-offs. PLEASE!
