Crazy from the Heat

Heat Fall To Knicks And Get Blasted By Shaq!!!

Despite a Ricky Davis 3 pointer to force overtime, the Miami Heat lose to the New York Knicks after scoring only 4 points in the extra period. Loss comes only hours after former Center Shaquille O’Neal goes public with discontent towards the Heat organization.

The Miami Heat just can’t seem to get a break. Even when they don’t seek drama, apparently it seeks them.

As if losing in overtime wasn’t enough, prior to tip time today the team was made aware of recent comments made by former starting Center, Shaquille O’Neal who was more than critical of the team, sparing no one, to include the teams trainers.

Has this been a season from hell or what?

Never in the history of the sport can I remember a team falling from grace so quickly.

After the loss, ESPN reported that the team has failed to win a game on Wednesday nights this season.

With a record like 13-58, maybe they should check the notes…..Apparently WE HAVEN’T WON MANY GAMES ON ANY NIGHTS THIS YEAR!!!!

‘A Shaq-Attack’

And as if things haven’t been horrible enough, Shaquille O’Neal has began to make it his business to start spittin’ lava around the league about his tenure in Miami.

He chose to throw Ricky Davis and Chris Quinn under the bus in particular in a tirade about the teams flop and the fact that he is being put in what has become a familiar role for him, which is that of a scapegoat.

Someone needs to point out the fact that Shaq has left every team in his career on a very bad note.

One team, hmm, no biggie….Two teams, maybe we’re on to something…A third team,  we have something to talk about…..Now a fourth team, and in my opinion, he has a few things to think about!

Guess we’re all wrong huh? Everyone hates Shaq, and no one has been fair to him.

He just sat on his can and limped up and down the court like he was in pain for nearly a whole season, only to go out west and become perfectly healed overnight.

Totally ridiculous and not surprising for a guy known for his theatrics.

It’s completely classless to see the way Shaq has gone public with his quarrels against the Heat organization, but hey, who can blame him? When you think about it, we’re the butt of everyone elses jokes huh?

We’ll so be it.

But on behalf of fed up Heat fans….The newest Phoenix SUN can kiss his old city of Miami’s MOON!!!

It’s comments like this that made me never realize why Shaq is so loved. Shaq is the one guy who can say whatever he wants and no one bats an eye lash. It’s ridiculous and shows just how biased the media can be. I wouldn’t be surprised if these comments went largely uncovered.
And as for Shaq suddenly being able to run, jump and rebound again I completely agree. So you’re telling me you couldn’t do these things and lose weight while you were in Miami, but put you on a title contender and you can dive into the stands and rebound again?
    Shaq’s a douche.

I am sorry, but the real douche is still the head coach of this lame excuse for a team (the Heat). Riles has set the perfect example by quitting on the team before the season even started. Signing Smush Parker, are you kidding me?
We can only blame Shaq for following the bad example which was set by his coach. But then you also have to blame Wade and the other starters who are quitting on the team right now!!
It al comes down to motivation, and Riley has done nothing, absolutely nothing to motivate this team. I cant blame Shaq for being motivated again when he came to a team which has a lighter practice schedule a good staring five and not too bad of a bank either. In the mean time Shaq is playing quite well and the Heat is stuck with a bunch of quitting lamers and you cant blame Shaq for that!

Piter: That doesn’t give Shaq the excuse to go out there on his bullhorn and talk crap about the Heat organization and even call out some of its players. The Heat — Mickey Arison in particular — made sure that when they traded Shaq, they stuck him on a team that had a chance to compete for a title. They didn’t have to do that.
This is dea ja vu. When he came to Miami from L.A., all he had was negative things to say about the Lakers’ organization and only good things to say about the Heat’s. Truth is, although Shaq is the most powerful man in the world, he can also be the softest because he is so sensitive. If any team trades him, he always takes it to heart and he always wants to blame everyone but himself.
What about the fact that Shaq would miss 30 games every year, get into foul trouble almost every night and flat out not care sometimes — even when the team was a championship contender. This motto the Heat adopted over the last few years of “we’ll turn it on in the playoffs,” you know who that came from? Shaq. That’s the mentality he’s always had — which is why he didn’t average the 28 and 15 he should’ve averaged throughout his career.
I can’t wait to see if Phoenix trades him somewhere in the near future what he’ll have to say about the Suns.
The only question I have is: When he goes into the Hall of Fame, what team is he going to go under?

Exactly Alden. And for some reason Shaq feels the need to burn all bridges when he leaves team. Did you see Ira’s article in the Sentinel today that said Shaq was calling Antoine “Ruben Studdard” because he was overweight and calling Wade “Wonder Boy.”
I don’t get this guy and I really don’t get why people love him so much. There are now three fan bases (Orlando, LA, MIAMI) that all hate the guy largely because of selfishness, laziness and derogatory comments made about the franchise and its player/coaches after he left. And no one says a word.

I can see both sides of the spectrum. I can understand how some feel that Riles quit on the team by not bringing in adequate support, and releasing some of the good support we had before - Posey, Kapono, etc. But let’s be real, anyone who thinks for a second that Shaq wasn’t wrong is being very disillusional….I think this was the most pathetic act in any team sport in a long time. Shaq was totally wrong, and he’s just as guilty of quitting on his team as he feels Riles was. For those that want to say his actions was a result of Riles initial action (letting good players go), then i would point the finger right back at him because he could have pulled a TOM BRADY and took less money to get better pieces around him, but no, even on the tail end of his career, he demanded a heavy money bag, knowing he bought a back-up Centers numbers to the table on a nightly basis. Gimme a break. Shaq can go to hell.

Of course Shaq was wrong as well, especially in the years before this year. And I thought the article was about this year and Shaqs comments after being traded by the Heat this year.

I cant blame Shaq for being extremly angry with the heat after they let the wrong players of the championship core go to other teams for NOTHING! And to replace that they trade the the biggest threat for team chemistry (Walker) for a ball-hogging SCRUB who’s even a bigger threat to team chemistry (Davis) and some dude who just doesn’t know how to play (Blount). After that, when Riley realised the team still needed something extra to get to that ‘next level’, he brought in wannabe gangster smush and grandpa penny. If that doesn’t make your blood boil, what does?

Of course Shaq could have opted for a little less money. But that doesn’t take away the fact that they had a good core (they won a championship) and they would have had room to make moves after this season.
